Steve Webb of Radio Brandy Broadcast Workshop has announced the closing of the Radio Brandy California campus in Mojave, CA. The closing is attributable to the economic downturn which has led to a virtual stoppage in donations and other sources of funding. In addition, Steve cites the rigid and over burdening tax laws and business regulations that exist in the State of California as playing a pivotal role in the closing of the school. If new sources of funding can be found, the campus will reopen in the Fall of 2009. The Arizona campus will not close and will idle for the Summer while new sources of funding are found.

Radio Brandy is a school that teaches younger people, mostly in their teens and 20’s, the broadcast trade. Many students upon graduating go on to work in commercial radio, television and own Part 15 AM radio stations. Steve indicates that with the drastic changes in taking place in licensed broadcasting, emphasis in the curriculum is now being placed on Part 15 AM station ownership and operation.
