KWAQ AM is a legal unlicensed Part 15 radio station using an FCC approved Chez Radio Procaster transmitter.  KWAQ's signal effectively reaches a rough three to five block radius from the station and covers the Lincoln Court neighborhood and some areas of adjacent neighborhoods in Covington.

KWAQ is currently in a test phase and at times you will hear odd things going over the air.  This is due to changing cables and sometimes equipment to help learn what gear will work best and allow for the best signal and audio quality at this location.   Also, changes to the automation software or audio processing will at times result in dead air or changes in the audio quality of our on air presentation.

A new mixing console will be purchased to replace the existing model sometime this Summer.  This should eliminate the "out of phase" sound of some of the stereo audio files that don't convert to monaural broadcasting signal.  At times you will hear songs that seem to be missing instruments or vocals and this is due to only one channel of the two channel audo being played over the air.  A new mixing console with the appropriate cables should remedy the problem.

Feature Story News is heard every hour on the top of the hour Monday through Friday.   Adult Contemporary Oldies music from the early 1960's through 1999 airs continuously during this time.

The Week in Review from Feature Story News is heard every hour on the top of the hour on Saturday.     Adult Contemporary Oldies music from the early 1960's through 1999 airs continuously until Sunday morning.

The Week in Review from Feature Story News is heard every hour on the top of the hour until Sunday night.    Regular news updates resume late Sunday night.  Oldies music from 1955 to 1976 airs from 6 AM until 6 PM Sunday.  Smooth Jazz airs from 6 PM Sunday until 5 AM Monday morning.
