Randumb Thoughts for December

***Merry Christmas to all this year!

***I recently purchased a used Yamaha A500 Integrated Amplifier built in 1984. Does anyone have any idea as to what kind of speaker connectors it uses? Banana Plugs won't work with it and I'm not sure Pins will either. I am wondering if I have to use bare speaker wire or Spade Lugs only? If anyone has any idea please email me at double u (w)ilw@double u (w) ilw@mac.com with any details. Thanks.

***I would be remiss in not mentioning the passing of a sports broadcasting legend. Dick Enberg. Probably the greatest multi sport sportscaster ever to grace the airwaves. For 60 years he called a variety of sporting including NFL football, Basketball, Tennis (notably Wimbledon) and pro golf among others. When paired with Merlin Olsen for NFL broadcasts during the 70's and 80's they were every bit the peer team of Pat Summerall and John Madden. If God has a wing in heaven for Sportscasters then surely Dick Enberg is in the Heavenly Sportscasting Hall of Fame.

***Now that the corporate tax rate has been cut to a respectable 21 percent, don't be surprised if the USA sees some very strong job growth in the years ahead. Now we'll be able to compete with the rest of the civilized world on a more even keel now that our tax rate is closer to that if most industrialized nations. The job market is already very strong and can be considered a "labor" market in many parts of the country. Want a job? Chances are you will find one quickly if it is an entry level position in fields such as industrial, manufacturing, warehousing, food service and other service occupations and health care.

***And also a hearty "Congratulations" to the Moody Blues upon being nominated for the first time and now elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. A real travesty that they've been overlooked this long given their considerable accomplishments and pioneering music in the world of Rock and Roll. They are a true original and clearly were the Blue Print for an entire Genre known as Art Rock or Progressive Rock along with Pink Floyd. And also nice to see Dire Straights get there as well. Now if we could only seem Jethro Tull and the J. Geils Band get their due?
